The Life of Charlemagne
Thursday, October 8, 2009 at 3:39PM We are exploring the Kingdom of the Franks and the life of Charlemagne. Our daughter's assignment today was to write a summary about the life of Charlemagne and place it in her folder. Well, I was very excited to see she went a step further. Check out her digital poster on his life.
She is really excited about this new technology tool and it has really brought life to our history class. Our other two children have decided they would like to take part in the next digital creation. She spent the afternoon reading various articles on Charlemagne as well as other tidbits of Medieval History. What would have been a dry lesson turned into an afternoon of student-centered learning. I don't think I could have asked for anything more.

Oh oh oh no! That is awesome. I'm going to have to go check it out. WOW!
She also made one for her novel study on Bridge to Terabithia. You can see it under the tab St. Francis School and under Writer's Corner. Such a blast and she learned so much more than the lesson that was originally planned. Happy Day!
Wow, I really like that!! Are you using TOG? We just studied Charlemagne as well! This week we learned about the Vikings. Good work! I'll have to look into the digital posters. I know it's something my daughter would enjoy.
Hey Christin- She had a blast and it's a great alternative to traditional summaries. We're actually using Story of the World with our 1st and 2nd grader and I'm using History Odyssey with our 4th grader. I figured out how to merge the two so that we're covering about the same material at the same time. We're about to move into the Vikings. Good luck with everything!
