BrainPOP

I love BrainPOP and BrainPOPJr! I think it is one of the best educational sites on the web. BrainPOP targets grades 3-12 while BrainPOP JR focuses on the early elementary grades K-3. The BrainPOP family provides content across all subject areas including informative videos, activities, graphic organizers, vocabulary, and interactive, online activities to enhance the experience. We have integrated many of the science videos regularly in our lessons, however, our children love to log on and explore just for fun. That's really saying something!

BrainPOP educators is a site affiliated with the parent company offering tutorials, lesson plans, and even webinars to show how to fully implement BrainPOP in your homeschool or classroom. In addition, there is a State Standards Tool in which you can easily access materials that correlate to grade level expectations. For the high-tech classroom, BrainPOP offers interactive whiteboard capabilities as well as having their products accredited by Promethean. It is refreshing to find an educational site that stays up-to-date on current events, science topics, and many other things. I find the amount of material to be overwhelming at first, but the possibilities are endless. Their website is easy to navigate, informative, exciting, interactive, and offers fantastic customer service. While they do offer free material, I find it is definitely worth the small monthly fee.
