St. Patty's Spelling Fun

For fun this week, everything had an Irish theme.  For spelling, each grade focused on words related to Ireland, it's history and St. Patrick's Day. Throughout the lesson, I tried to integrate web 2.0 tools to enhance the learning process.

1st Grade List:

green, clover, seventeen, jig, March, rainbow, four, leaf, gold, pot, dance, music

Monday: Write each word 2 times. (handout)

Tuesday: ABC order (handout)

Wednesday: Unscramble (handout)

Thursday: Write 5 super sentences focusing on these ideas:

• A sentence expresses a complete idea.
• Each sentence has a subject and a predicate.
• Sentences begin with a capital letter.
• Sentences end with a punctuation mark (?, ., or !)

Then, type your sentences in Google Docs and Skitch an image for our webpage.

Friday: Show us what you learned! Test Day!

In addition, Ellie wanted to spell her words using Spell With Flickr.  I was super proud!  She typed the words and copied and pasted the code to post these images.  Way to go girl! Check out her creations.
